The Magic of Castor Oil

Castor oil is often celebrated for its versatile uses and potential benefits. Here are some of the magical qualities attributed to castor oil:

  1. Skin and Hair Care: It’s rich in fatty acids and has moisturizing properties, making it a popular ingredient in skincare and haircare products. It’s believed to promote hair growth, reduce acne, and moisturize dry skin. Castor Oil is a wonderful moisturiser for skin, it also helps get rid of bumps on the skin and when combined with Frankincense Oil it s wonderful skin serum, helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Castor Oil is also great when it is for hair – – 
    Apply castor oil to your scalp and roots using your fingertips.
    Make sure to distribute it on your scalp evenly.
    Try to avoid getting the oil into the strands of your hair. Due to its thickness, it can be difficult to remove.
    Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap and wrap your head with a towel.
    Allow the oil to remain on your hair for at least fifteen minutes.
    For best results, leave in overnight.
    To remove the castor oil, wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo.
    For the best results, repeat the process every week for 6 – 8 weeks
  2. Laxative: Castor oil is famously known as a natural laxative. It’s used to relieve constipation by stimulating bowel movements. Rub a drop into your belly button at night.  Start with a small drop.
  3. Anti-inflammatory: When applied topically, it may help reduce inflammation and soothe irritated skin.Massage warm Castor Oil into the affected joint or muscle area. A bandage or coupe of strips of cotton fabric can be layered over the area and tied in place with cling film (the kitchen wrap), a hot water bottle or microwaveable pad can be added on top of it. The cling film will stop the oil messing all over the place. Do this once a day for about 45 minutes.  The cotton strip may be kept in a zip lock bag in the fridge until the next use.

Antimicrobial Properties: Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which has antimicrobial properties that can help fight bacteria and fungi, potentially aiding in wound healing.A drop in the eye at night will help with dry eyes, a drop 3 times a day will help with pink eye and other infections. Said to also assist with getting rid of cataracts.
  5. Joint Pain Relief: Some people use castor oil packs on joints to relieve pain and inflammation associated with conditions like arthritis.Massage warm Castor Oil into the affected joint or muscle area.     A tiny drop rubbed onto the eyebrows and top and bottom lashes before bed will help.
  8. Immune System Support: Some believe it helps support the immune system when used internally. Apply a thin layer of Castor Oil over the chest and neck, include the sinus area if that is affected. In this case a cool or warm cloth may added over the area to increase blood flow.
  9. General Health: Advocates claim various other health benefits, such as supporting detoxification, improving lymphatic circulation, and even aiding in reducing menstrual cramps.
